Here we have an enchanting antique silver filigree carved Cameo brooch depicting Psyche, the mortal bride of the Greek God Cupid. Upon her marriage to Cupid she became immortal. The Greek translation of the name Psyche is soul and butterfly. She is wearing butterfly wings in her hair in this lovely cameo.
The clasp is a European barrel type and is in good working order. There is also a loop so that you can wear it on a chain. The back is marked "820" for it's silver content. This beautiful antique cameo measures 1 3/4" x 1 1/2" and is in very good condition. |
