Description
Jewelry with an Oriental theme was very popular in 1885 following the opening of the Gilbert & Sullivan opera "Mikado".  This amazing brooch was crafted during this period and represents the character "Yum Yum".    This enamelled metal pin is very detailed with high relief.   It measures 2 1/2" x 1 3/4".  The enamel is glossy and smooth.  Some of the copper metal is showing through the enamel but serves to provide attractive highlights to the pin as a whole.  This Victorian era pin in is wonderful condition.
