This Victorian stick pin features a pair of snakes which surround an oval beaded cartouche. The stem is signed PSCo which stands for Plainville Stock Co., (Plainville, MA, 1896 present). Crafted in gold-tone metal, possibly gold washed brass, this stickpin measures approximately 2 3/4" long with the head measuring 3/8" x 1/2". The snake was a popular Victorian motif symbolizing eternity. Queen Victoria's engagement ring was in the form of a snake.
