Here is a stunning antique Art Deco French sterling silver bar brooch which is set with sparkling marcasite stones. This pin is marked near the clasp with a boar's head mark which is the French mark for sterling silver. It also has a maker's marked which reads C.F. with an anvil symbol, which is the mark of French silversmith, Charles Forgelot, 1901 - 1928, Paris, France. There is a third mark on the opposite side that is unidentified.
The brooch measures 2 3/8" wide and fastens with a trombone clasp. Upon very close inspection with an eye loupe I can see that one of the tiny marcasites has a small chip. This is not visible to the naked eye. Otherwise this piece is in excellent condition.
