Description

Here is a fabulous Art Nouveau celluloid buckle. There are two wonderfully nouveau silver repousse cupid escutcheons attached with brass rivets to each celluloid disk. This is an absolutely stunning example of Art Nouveau jewelry. A contributing factor to the glory of this piece is it's size. Each celluloid disk measures 2 1/2" x 2 1/4" with a combined total width of 4 1/5". I do note that the female end of the buckle closure has had a tiny repair (I totally missed this without my loupe). A small piece of metal has been inserted to support a small break in the metal. The closure is solid and functional. Otherwise this beautiful piece is in excellent condition.
