Here is a beautiful Mimi Schulman, Art Nouveau style brooch which is signed "Tokens of Gilt", (Toronto, Canada). Ms. Schulman's creations are romantic interpretations of antique Victorian and Nouveau designs.
She showcases here designs both locally and internationally. In the late 1970's she created a line of stage jewelry for singer, Dolly Parton. She has also provided film props for many feature films and has accepted several commissions from actor/director, Martin Scorcee and actor Mickey Rourke.
This beautiful Art Nouveau style brooch is a stunning example of her innovative work. It measures approximately 1 3/4" across is 3 1/4" in height and features cherubs, large sparkling faceted glass crystals, dangling crystal swags and a detailed crystal and faux pearl drop. There is some small copper spots at the back of the bottom crystal which in my opinion were an addition to create an aged look. The copper setting also has a wonderful antiqued finish which completes the illusion of age. |
