Here is a gorgeous Victorian Brooch in the shape of a hand. The hand was a classic Victorian jewelry subject and often used to symbolize friendship, love and affection. I believe that this lovely hand brooch has been fashioned from dyed pressed horn. If you hold it to the light the edges are somewhat transparent and there is some grain patterns present on the back. It measures 2 1/8" long x 7/8" (at widest point). This antique brooch is in good condition with all over surface crazing. Pin assembly is complete and in good condition. There is such great detail in the fingernails and ruffled sleeve.
