Here is an amazing example of 1920's Egyptian Revival jewelry. This glass beaded necklace features Czech molded and enameled glass hieroglyphic beads, round foiled glass beads and small polished irregular green spacer beads. The interesting round black beads look like that have little bites out of them that reveal the foiling, but they are perfectly round and smooth. The clasp is an old barrel type closure but I am not sure what type of material it is made from. It is cold to the touch so I don't believe that it is wooden.
This fabulous Art Deco era necklace is strung on green silk thread and is firmly knotted between each bead. It is 16 1/2" in length. I have checked each bead carefully and there are no chips or cracks.
The Egyptian archaeological finds that occurred in the 1920s inspired a great interest the Egyptian style.
