This stunning 3 piece set was made by Avon of Bellville, Ontario, Canada, (1945 - 1971), not to be confused with the Avon Cosmetic Company. Marcel Boucher was known to have designed much of the jewelry for this company. The company was founded by Abe Mazer. The set consists of clamper style bracelet, brooch and earrings. All pieces are set with fabulous faceted citrine and topaz art glass stones. The antiqued gold-tone setting is ornate with rope and wire style decoration. The brooch and bracelet are signed "Avon" in script and are numbered "9173" and "9177". The earrings are signed "Avon" in all caps and numbered "9175". The numbers are the 4 digit numbering code used by Marcel Boucher. The bracelet measures 2 1/8" wide (inside measure) and is 2" tall at the middle front. The brooch measures 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" and the earrings measure 7/8" x 7/8". This set has a wonderful look and feel of quality. All pieces are in excellent condition. |
