This beautiful vintage 1970s modernist brooch is signed "Gervais, Fait au Quebec, Made in Canada". Robert Gervais was a French Canadian enamellist. A contemporary of French Canadian artists, de Passille & Sylvestre, his designs have a similar look and feel with equal precision and detail. This asymmetrical pin has both squared and rounded edges. The central abstract design is in cobalt, silver and white on a black enamel background. It measures 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" and is in excellent condition.
