This is a stunning ruffle Schreiner, New York, keystone brooch. This beautiful dome shaped brooch features an incredible swirled emerald green glass cabochon stone which is surrounded by a row of icy blue chatons. There are long faceted emerald green glass stones that extend around the brooch in a sunburst pattern.
The Schreiner ruffle pin is shown in many vintage costume jewelry
books and is most often unsigned. The signature style and stones identify this brooch. The keystone shaped stones were custom made for and exclusive to the Schreiner company.
This substantial piece of jewelry measures 2 1/2" across and is approximately 1 1/2" high when laid flat. It has a hook so you may also wear it as a pendant. The setting is gold tone. The cabochon is set in an ornate dog-tooth setting and the other stones are all prong set by hand. This brooch is of exceptionally high-quality, construction and material. I see no damage or wear.
