Here is a fabulous classic Selro or Selini set. The set consists of necklace, bracelet and earrings all adorned with black Siamese faces that sit upon a red enamel metal shield on chrome panels. These Siamese faces are featured in many jewelry collecting books and attributed to Selro and Selini.
The Selro Company was in operation in the 50's and 60's. It is said that both the Selro and the Selini Jewelry company were owned by the same person, Paul Sellinger of NYC. Both companies produced jewelry similar and identical to each other. Many of the Selini pieces were marked only with a paper hang tag which has left many unsigned pieces.
The pendent necklace has a thick and shiny silver-tone chain that measures 17" (not including hook). The pendent measures 2 1/5" x 1 1/8" (without bale) and is completed with a wonderful silver-tone, 2" serpent and tassel dangle.
The bracelet measures 7 1/2" x 2 1/2" and is made of six large panels. It has a secure fold-over type clasp.
The matching clip on earrings measure 1" x 1 1/4" long
The paint is good, the chrome is shiny and free from scratching or damage. I only see one small dark spot on metal on the back of the bracelet. Otherwise this set is in excellent condition. |
