This vintage Taxco Sterling Silver Panel Bracelet dates to the 1940's. It has tons of silver detailed scroll design and bezel set green stones alternating on each panel. There are also 3 green bezel set tribal mask figures which rest on silver balls and twisted sterling wire. The clasp is marked Sterling 925 Taxco.
Taxco is highly collectible jewelry featured in many jewelry books. I do not see the eagle stamp which by law was required by the Mexican Government to be applied to every sterling item from 1947 to 1979.
This is a hefty piece measuring 7" long and 1 1/8" wide. There is very minimal wear with spots of tarnish that will likely polish out if desired. This bracelet does not have an artist stamp but is well crafted and reflects the quality of master design. |
