Description

This stunning Trifari Clip-mates duette pin brooch was designed by Alfred Philippe. It is signed Trifari with the elongated "T" and with the crown above it (1930 -1940). The joining clip is marked "Clip-mates" and "Pat. No. 2050804" which patent is registered in the US patent office and dates this pin to 1936.

The Clip-mates Pin was Trifari's patented version of the Duette clip that was being produced by Coro at that time. These pins are innovative in design as they can be worn as 2 separate clips or fastened together by the joining rod and worn as a single brooch.

The camera just could not capture all the sparkle and quality that this gorgeous Art Deco Pin exudes. It measures 2 7/8" long and 1 1/4" wide. It has a rhodium plated setting with pave rhinestone openwork overlapping leaf design. I see a few stones that have a tiny bit of clouding, but only when a No. 10 loop is used. It is in excellent condition. Joining mechanism and safety clasp work perfectly.
